TechCrunch, a US technology blog, quoted sources as saying that Intel is about to shrink its wearables business.
In 2014, Intel acquired the sports watch manufacturer Basis and incorporated it into the new equipment group. The acquisition is clearly part of Intel's larger puzzle. Intel plans to use the rapid development of the wearable device market to attack competitor Qualcomm.
In June 2015, Intel acquired Recon, a head-mounted display device manufacturer. Recon's equipment is geared to sports enthusiasts such as bicycles and skiers.
However, this summer, Intel's wearable device program began to have problems. In June of this year, Intel recalled Basis Peak equipment due to possible overheating risks. According to Intel, this issue affects about 0.2% of users. Intel did not provide equipment replacement, but stopped selling the product directly. Subsequently, Intel also announced that it will end its software support for Peak (including cloud storage services) by the end of this year.
At present, sources close to Intel said that Intel will shrink its investment in wearable devices and even completely withdraw from the wearable device market. Intel New Equipment Group may also make significant layoffs.
Intel has informed many employees of this decision, and many people may lose their jobs before the end of the year. There are a lot of rumors at the moment, but they all believe that Intel will lay off a large number of new equipment groups, or completely shut down the business.
The manufacturing process of optical cable is generally divided into the following processes:
1. Optical fiber selection: select optical fibers with excellent transmission characteristics and qualified tension.
2. The dyeing of the optical fiber: the standard full chromatogram is used for identification, and the high temperature is required to be non-fading and non-migrating.

3. Secondary extrusion: select high elastic modulus, low linear expansion coefficient plastic to extrude into a tube of a certain size, put the optical fiber into and fill it with moisture-proof and waterproof gel, and finally store it for a few days (not less than two days) .
4. Optical cable stranding: stranding several extruded optical fibers with the strengthening unit.
5. Squeeze the outer sheath of the optical cable: add a layer of sheath to the stranded optical cable.
