Silicon Image, Inc. introduced the SiI9387 port processor and the SiI9334 transmitter, the first semiconductor products to feature the latest HDMI® 1.4 specification for digital TV (DTV) and home theater applications. The SiI9387 port processor and SiI9334 transmitter support the following HDMI® 1.4 specification features:

Devices using this chip will be able to send and receive full-duplex data at 100Mb per second over an HDMI cable;

Silicon Image's port processor is an innovative platform that delivers new features, technologies and standards for HDTV HDMI ports that go beyond the basic HDMI switching capabilities offered by analog switches. The port processor supports multiple HDMI inputs and a System-on-Chip (SoC) interface under HDMI technology. In addition to HDMI 1.4 functionality, the SiI9387 port processor also supports Silicon Image-specific technologies such as InstaPortTM, which accelerates port switching between HDMI consumer electronics devices, and a mobile phone, digital camera, digital video camera and portable media player. LiquidHD technology is a set of protocols that run on standard IP networks such as HDMI Ethernet channels. LiquidHD technology is designed to enable fast and easy connection between TVs, consumer electronics devices, personal computers, portable media devices and home theaters and wireless networks. It enables consumers to view digital content from any LiquidHD source device from any LiquidHD display in the home.
LiquidHD technology based on the HDMI 1.4 Ethernet channel lays the foundation for simplifying the connection and use of consumer electronics.
