However, the carbon fiber produced in China before is basically a small tow. The large tow carbon fiber has high production efficiency, and the production cost is 30% lower than that of the small tow, and the layering efficiency is high in the preparation process of the composite material.

The 8000-ton large tow carbon fiber production line has the largest carbon fiber carbonization capacity in China, and its completion and production has filled the blank of China's large tow carbon fiber production, marking an important step for China's large tow carbon fiber production technology, which will accelerate China. The application of carbon fiber products in industrial fields such as wind power, automobile lightweight, pressure vessel, and marine engineering can effectively expand the application fields of domestic carbon fiber, drive the industrial chain to extend upstream and downstream, and promote the overall expansion of the industrial scale. As a supporting project for the 8000-ton large tow carbon fiber carbonization project, the first-stage polymerization section of the 40,000-ton carbon fiber raw silk expansion project and the 2000-ton spinning production line were completed and put into operation on August 23, 2017, and the second phase of the 5000-ton spinning production line. It is expected to be running soon. The project is scheduled to be completed in May 2019 in parallel with the 8,000-ton large tow carbon fiber carbonization project. At present, after the carbonization of 24K carbon fiber raw yarn produced by the project, the quality index is stable and the supply of the product is in short supply. Jilin Chemical Fiber is currently the largest carbon fiber raw silk production base in China.

According to reports, in recent years, Jilin Chemical Fiber insists on the production and operation, the integrated development of the industrial chain, the terminal pull, and the combination of production, education and research to improve the supply of four main lines, and promote the application of military industry to civilian use and industrial use, especially by leading the formation of Jilin. Among them, its 24K large tow carbon fiber has been tested by Beijing University of Chemical Technology and Deakin University in Australia, surpassing the T300 standard, and its performance is comparable to that of the world's leading companies. After being expanded and carbonized by Weihai, the 24K original wire has been successfully applied to wind power blades made by Vestas in Denmark, fully meeting its quality requirements. At the same time, the pre-oxidation wire market was successfully developed and applied to the field of fire protection and sealing materials.

From January to November 2017, Jilin Chemical Fiber Carbon Valley's carbon fiber raw silk sales volume was 4,847 tons, a year-on-year increase of 21%, and its domestic market share reached 94.2%, exceeding the previous year's 34.2%.
