OSRAM acquires Maneri-Ag, a lighting solutions provider

Houston, Sas., provides energy-efficient lighting solutions for commercial and industrial facilities, with annual revenues of tens of millions of dollars.

Maneri-Agraz's customer base includes large, well-known food and beverage manufacturing and distribution companies, technology companies and aerospace companies. Maneri-Agraz will be part of Osram's Sylvania LighTIng SoluTIons (SLS), part of the Osram Lighting Solutions business unit.

Maneri-Agraz offers solutions for different markets, from manufacturing/storage to retail and public sector. The transaction helped to expand the influence of OSRAM's services business in the industrial/commercial sector in the southern and southwestern United States.

Elladia Pulido, CEO of OSRAM Lighting Solutions, said: "This acquisition reflects Osram's commitment to finding opportunities to meet the company's strategic development plans and expand its service-oriented business."

Maneri-Agraz founder John Maneri said: "Maneri-Agraz is proud to provide customers with the best service for more than 20 years, and we are honored to be part of the SLS team." In addition, John Maneri will serve as a consultant, Maneri's business cooperation Partner Frank Agraz Jr. will also join SLS as Business Development Manager.

In terms of Osram's (optoelectronic semiconductor and special lighting) business integration, Osram CEO recently said that there is no talks with Chinese investors.

At the same time, OSRAM is also accelerating market development in the field of optoelectronic semiconductors.

At the CES show in 2017, OSRAM unveiled its latest high-tech automotive application.

“Osram's automotive lighting technology is designed to provide drivers with smart, stylish designs, but most importantly, to improve road safety,” said Dr. Olaf Berlien, CEO of OSRAM Lighting Group.

Laser-based automotive lighting is brighter, and the high beam range can reach twice the range. As the visibility and clarity of the driver's path improve, the safety of all passers-by on the road will increase.

The fatality rate at night is four times the death rate during the day, and the glare-free full-beam headlamp is another solution for OSRAM to increase visibility.

Dr. Stefan Kampmann, Chief Technology Officer of OSRAM Lighting Group added, “A modern car contains about 200 light sources, some of which use invisible light, such as light sources for intelligent environmental analysis, proximity detection and driver monitoring systems.” Visitors can also participate in VR adventures at the Osram CES booth, and experience a wide range of automotive light sources through VR – from ambient lighting to high-light, long-range headlights.

In addition to laser technology, advanced LED pixel headlights also represent future automotive lighting. Together with its partners, OSRAM has developed a miniature LED matrix chip that can hold more than 1000 individual control chips, and this LED pixel headlight means permanent glare.
