The Nexus 7, which was born at this year's Google I/O conference, is a resurgence, rekindling people's enthusiasm for Android tablets. Although the hardware configuration of the Nexus 7 is not top-notch, the $199 price is full of aggressiveness. What kind of connotation can this $199 buy?
First review the Nexus 7 configuration: 8GB or 16GB storage capacity, 1GB RAM, Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor, 7-inch 1280x800 IPS display, 1.2 megapixel front camera, powered by Android4.1 "Jelly Bean" operating system.
In terms of IO, Nexus7 pursues minimalism. In addition to Micro USB and 3.5-inch audio output, there is no interface, and even TF card expansion is saved.
The Nexus 7's outer casing is fixed in a Plastic frame snap-fit, although it is 1mm thicker (up to 10.4mm) than the iPad's glued form, but the maintainability is much improved. It seems that in terms of maintainability, the maintenance cost of the Nexus 7 is much lower than that of an iPad that can only be thrown into the trash can.
Similar to the iPad, the 4326mAh battery occupies most of the body's volume. Although the capacity is slightly smaller than the Kindle Fire, it has a longer battery life, which may be the power of software optimization.
There is very little adhesive around the battery for fixing, so it is very easy to replace the battery. However, the structural strength of this is sufficient for the user to experience the test.
A copper-tungsten radiator with a suspected heat dissipation appears below the battery. Of course, this may be just an EMI mask. According to the test, the heat of the Nexus 7 is completely within the acceptable range.
The dual speakers and dual microphones are set at the bottom, which is much thicker than the iPad's mono speakers, but the dual microphones placed together seem to have limited noise reduction.
Interestingly, the Nexus 7 uses the same Hynix H5TC2G83CFR DDR3 RAM as the new Retina MacBook Pro. Of course, the frequency and capacity are much smaller than MBP.
To save costs, the Nexus 7 only has a 1.2 megapixel front camera and no rear camera.
