On August 3, 2017, Dalian United Holdings, a leading semiconductor component distributor dedicated to the Asia-Pacific market, announced that its subsidiary has launched the LUMILEDS high-brightness linear current solution.

When the scheme is operated from 1 to 4 W, its efficiency ranges from 145 to 185 Lm/W (@85 °C). Compared with the medium power (1W) products, the LUMILEDS solution of the company has a higher density, and the number of LEDs is not much higher when used in high power, which can reduce the difficulty of optical design and PCB layout. Compared with high-power products, LUXEON 5050 is more cost-effective and has the same reliability as high-power products when operating at high efficiency.

This solution uses high performance linear ICs:
1. Compared with the switched power supply, it does not require a very large volume, and has a better PF value, and more importantly, solves the problem of capacitor life.
2. Large wattage linear ICs provide simpler wiring and more stable circuits than other small wattage linear ICs
3. The temperature feedback circuit of the IC itself makes the circuit wattage very stable
4. In the case of a large wattage, it is not necessary to attach the power supply to the mechanism casing, thereby reducing the overall weight of the mechanism.

The LED can reach a heat flux of 148 to 185 lm/W according to different currents. When 200 W, 1 watt only needs 0.07 USD, and 1 USD has 1813 lm.
When the power supply is operated at more than 100W, the advantage is gradually reflected. At 200W, the cost is only 11USD, which is half of the general power supply.
