OSRAM Introduces Compact Ultra-Thin LEDs for Automotive Daytime Running Lights

On September 18th, OSRAM Opto Semiconductors introduced its new Oslon MX ECE LED and Oslon SX ECE high-power LED for front-light daytime running lights for mid-size cars.

It is understood that the new product is low in cost and is packaged in ceramic. The LEDs are available in a package size of 3x3 mm2 and can operate up to 150 °C. The Oslon MX ECE LED is a 1W class high power LED with a luminous flux of 70-95 lm, while the Oslon SX ECE LED is a 0.5 W high power LED with a luminous flux of 40-60 lm. Due to the small size of these two LEDs, they can be designed as compact and ultra-thin LEDs. In addition to the new LEDs from the Oslon series, OSRAM has also launched a range of LED products for the automotive industry, including LEDs for different light sources and performance, from high-power TopLEDs for automotive daytime running lights to pre-automobiles. OSTAR headlights for lights (low beam and high beam) to meet the needs of different customers.

Mike Godwin, LED director of OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, said, "Oslon MX ECE LEDs and Oslon SX ECE LEDs are tailored to meet the needs of the automotive industry, just like the LEDs used in all of our cars. The components are ideal for daytime running light (DRL) applications. They can be installed in automotive headlamp systems or as separate LED fender lights."
