The Shanghai Municipal Quality and Technical Supervision Bureau of gesep.com recently organized a testing organization to conduct risk monitoring on some commercially available LED lighting products. It was found that out of 27 samples of LED lamps, there was one sample under moderate conditions of moderate risk, that is, Eyes are harmful to the retina when looking directly at the light source.

A number of experts suggested that the current "photobiological safety of lamps and lanterns system" standard should be adjusted from the recommended standard to a mandatory standard, and risk monitoring should be conducted throughout the country. In addition, the applicable color temperature for LED lighting products in different locations should also be specified.

Zhang Haijun, Honorary Chairman of the Shanghai Illuminating Society pointed out that the color temperature of indoor LED lighting products should not exceed 4000K, and LED lighting products with a color temperature of 5000K and above should be avoided.
