Mystique is the most advanced audio/video converter system chip on the market. Its unique HDMI 1.4 and DisplayPort 1.2 two-way conversion feature ensures seamless connection between various consumer electronics, business computers and commercial multimedia devices. These include Blu-ray DVD players, game consoles, docking stations, laptops, tablets, digital billboards and Thunderbolt devices. In addition, ST's industry-unique converters enable a richer multimedia entertainment experience that supports the new 4Kx2K ultra-high resolution display (4096x2160p is 4x full HD display) and 7.1 surround sound.

Mystique converter can send and receive DisplayPort 1.2 High Bit Rate 2 data, and the transmission rate per channel reaches 5.4Gpbs. Therefore, it only needs two pairs of data lines to drive a 120Hz full HD digital TV. This advantage helps the product design to minimize the cable. And component cost and signal line routing space on the board. OEMs can develop external connectors and docking stations that support HDMI and DisplayPort for connecting business computers, mobile devices and home appliances, extending connectivity solutions to existing products and products.

Amir Sheikholeslami, Director of DisplayPort and Display Division of STMicroelectronics, said: "STMicroelectronics is the first semiconductor manufacturer to develop and promote the DisplayPort HD video interface standard. It is currently the leader in this technology. The new Mystique series further expands our company. With the DisplayPort lineup, these "bridged" products seamlessly connect to the next generation of ultra-high resolution displays to enhance the user experience."

Mystique is based on ST's advanced DisplayPort technology. This display technology has the highest compatibility and is the reference standard for all major graphics and test equipment vendors. The DisplayPort 1.2 standard enables data bandwidths of up to 21.6 Gbps, allowing multiple video streams to be transmitted to multiple displays and display walls that are daisy-chained with a single cable. In the mobile product market, this series of products has strong anti-radio interference performance. Market research firm In-Stat predicts that by 2014, shipments of external DisplayPort interfaces will reach 400 million units.

Technical characteristics of the Mystique series:

· Dual Mode DisplayPort 1.2 / HDMI 1.4 Compatible Transceiver

· RGB and YUV video formats, colors support 16-bit color

· High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 1.3 standard with on-chip key and HDCP repeater function

· Adaptive equalization and pre-emphasis to support long-distance cable transmission

· Spread spectrum technology to reduce electromagnetic interference

· Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) authentication support

· Support 4Kx2K / 3D FHD 120Hz video; frame sequential format and vertical stack format conversion

· Support 7.1CH channel 32kHz to 192kHz audio and high bit rate audio

· Low power optimization

The Mystique family includes the STDP2600 – HDMI 1.4 to Dual Mode DisplayPort (DP++) converter; the STDP2650 – DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 1.4 converter; and the STDP2690 – DisplayPort 1.2 to Dual Mode DisplayPort (DP++) converter. All product samples have been released, and the target market is mass production OEM and ODM customers.
