Commonly used photometric law

1. The inverse square law of illuminance

Definition: The illuminance perpendicular to the direction of propagation of the light is proportional to the intensity of the light source in that direction and inversely proportional to the square of the distance from the source to the surface.

Note: Only the point source meets the inverse square law of distance. (The test distance should not be less than 10 times the maximum size of the light exit surface of the lamp.)

2. The law of cosine of illumination:

3. Cosine Cube Law

Where: I—the intensity of the light from which the point source is directed;

H—the height of the light source from the plane;

Θ—the angle between the plane normal and the incident ray;

— OA length.
