Ceramic insulated power wirewound resistors are often referred to as cement resistors. It is widely used in computers, televisions, instruments, meters, and audio. The Cement Resistor is wound by a resistance wire, which is generally high in power and large in size. Therefore, it can be easily distinguished from its shape by combining power and model. It is divided into 2W, 3W, 5W, 7W, 8W, 10W, 15W, 30W, 20W, 40W and other specifications. Common models are RX27-1, RX27-3 (3A, 3B, 3C), RX27-4 (4V, 4H), and their appearance is shown in Figure 1-1.
The cement resistor adopts industrial high-frequency electronic ceramic shell, which has good heat dissipation and excellent insulation performance. Its insulation resistance can reach 100MR, and it has excellent flame retardant and explosion-proof performance. The resistance wire is made of alloy materials such as constantan, manganese copper, nickel chromium, etc., and has good stability and overload capacity. The pressure wire is connected to the leg of the soldering pin by a crimping method. In the case of a load short circuit, it can be quickly blown at the crimping point to protect the circuit.
Cement resistors are available in a variety of shapes and mounting styles and can be mounted directly on printed circuit boards or independently mounted using metal brackets.
When using cement resistors, such as working at room temperature, the power can be determined by the following formula: UXI = P; if working in a special environment, the resistance power should be small according to the curve shown and selected. If the resistance power is large or the heat dissipation conditions are poor, the lead-length cement resistor should be used. The metal bracket can also be used to fix the cement resistor in a suitable position, and the wire is used to connect the cement resistor to the circuit.
