When the mechanical switch is closed, "jitter" is generally generated. In some control circuits, this phenomenon is not allowed. As shown in the figure, the single pulse generator can effectively remove the jitter problem of the mechanical switch.

When booting, R and C clear IC1, Q1=Q2=0. The J-K flip-flop IC1 is connected to a 2-bit shift register. When the switch K is set to a, the gate c outputs "1". When the CP pulse comes, Q1 = J1 = 1. At this time, if K generates jitter, it is assumed to be one-on-one, as long as K is not connected to -a. The gate c output is "1" unchanged. When the next CP pulse comes, Q2=J2=1, the state changes of Q1 and -Q2 just go through the period of one CP pulse, and after the NAND gate 2a, one single pulse is output. The waveform is shown in the figure.

A manual pulse generator (MPG) is a device normally associated with computer numerically controlled machinery or other devices involved in positioning. It usually consists of a rotating knob that generates electrical pulses that are sent to an equipment controller. The controller will then move the piece of equipment a predetermined distance for each pulse.
