Recently, Cable specialist Netherlands VBMS and electrical engineering equipment company EDS formed a joint monitoring project to minimize the interruption caused by submarine cable failure.

This cooperation created an emergency preparedness framework, and both parties stated that they can achieve 70% faster completion of cable repairs.

The cooperation was officially announced at the conference on the failure of submarine cables in London. More than 100 people from developers, offshore transmission owners, insurance companies and contractors attended the conference.

“We believe this concept will make a significant contribution to the life of renewable energy,” said VBMS General Manager Arno van Poppel. “Further cooperation is being planned to ensure that this important topic is always on the agenda.”
