Maxim provides power management solutions for three Xilinx FPGA reference designs

Maxim sponsors X-Fest 2014, upcoming high-integration FPGA reference design

Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (NASDAQ: MXIM) announced that it is a leading supplier of power solutions for Xilinx UltraScale FPGAs, and Maxim provides power management solutions for three Xilinx FPGA reference designs. During the X-Fest 2014 show, system designers can evaluate the Maxim solution using the Xilinx Kintex UltraScale FPGA KCU105 evaluation board.

In this collaboration, Maxim used a very flexible InTuneTM digital power supply and applied high-density, high-efficiency Volterra technology to the FPGA development board for the first time. The flexibility and high-density advantages of Maxim's power products, combined with the inherent flexibility of Xilinx 20nm UltraScale FPGAs and high-density logic design, provide system designers with unprecedented performance, energy efficiency and fast time-to-market. Maxim's product size is up to 30% smaller than the previous generation on the market.

Complex communication systems typically require dozens of power supplies, many of which require reliable high current output in limited space and heat consumption. InTune's built-in automatic compensation circuit enables the same design and layout to support multiple power supplies, minimizing development time and providing great convenience for power system designers.

During X-fest, Maxim will show how to easily configure Maxim's high-density, multi-phase and InTune digital power solutions with PowerToolTM software. Other display products include programmable analog circuits for FPGAs, EE-Sim® system power online tools, and analog reference designs. Maxim's engineers will be on hand to discuss solutions and how to deal with next-generation design challenges.
