Samsung's 5G technology data transmission rate is much higher than the current 4G LTE technology. In the test, Samsung's 5G technology achieved a download rate of 1Gbps in the 28GHz frequency band, while the current LTE network data transmission rate is 75Mbps. Samsung's theoretical download rate will reach 10Gbps. At this rate, users can download a complete movie in just one second.
This technology is still in its infancy, and requires 64 antenna units to achieve, so the commercialization of this technology still takes a long time. The industry believes that this is an important milestone in the development of 5G technology. In addition to Samsung, the governments of China and the EU have indicated that they will invest considerable funds to develop next-generation mobile communication technologies and increase the data transmission rate of mobile devices.
However, the potential of the LTE network has not yet been fully realized. US operators only provide a download rate of 20 Mbps in the commercial LTE network, which is far below the theoretical value of 75 Mbps for LTE.
