What is your development plan for the lighting industry?
Mr. Deng: I think that the development strategy of Leviton in China is like this. First of all, Leviton is a company with a traditional and profound corporate culture, and the product line is also very rich. I will use his successful experience in the United States to develop. China's market, but will not copy the US sales strategy, but combine my experience in China for more than 10 years to do an integration. Moreover, I will adjust the sales strategy of each product line accordingly. In terms of integrated wiring, we will increase our publicity efforts and stand on the high end. The competition in the wiring industry is fierce, and we have to go to the higher end, such as Fiber Optic cable solutions. In the past, the cost of cable solutions and the cost of copper solutions were very large. However, as the price of copper increased, the gap between the two became smaller and smaller. The function and application range of optical cables were better than those of copper cables. We will provide more solutions and will also strengthen the Category 6 solution.
Second, we will use our strong production and design development capabilities in our two factories in China to strengthen our switch panels. Last year, we launched the love switch series switch panel, and in the future will continue to stand in the middle and high-end market, launching different series of products. Leviton has a comprehensive product line in the field of lighting control, including sensors, controllers, independent dimmers, large lighting control systems, and stage lighting. In the future, I will do it in three aspects: First, continue to strengthen the sales promotion of integrated wiring; Second, in terms of switch panels, we have a very strong development and design team, which is our core product, we will definitely Get it done. Mr. Deng: Leviton is an American company with high-quality products and good after-sales service. The products are positioned at high-end. Leviton products have a corresponding market share all over the world, and we will also develop products suitable for the local market in China. Our local R&D team is also actively involved in research and development to develop products for the Chinese market. For example, in terms of voltage, the United States is 110V, and China is 220V. There are differences between the two. In addition, the standard installation box in the United States is 120, China is 86, and the size is different. The above differences will require us to invest more R&D and develop more products that meet the Chinese market standards. In addition, our R&D team will also develop products suitable for European and Asian standards. In other words, Leviton will also participate in CE and IEC standards.
Qianjiawang: Since its entry into the Chinese market in 2003, Leviton has achieved very good results, but after all, the time is not long, so the outside world still does not know much about Leviton. Mr. Deng: Leviton is a company with a history of 100 years. It is the first manufacturer in the United States to produce lighting fixtures and switches, and its market share in the US is more than 50%. Secondly, Leviton's product line is very complete, involving switch panels, integrated wiring, lighting control systems and more. In addition, Leviton is not only involved in these businesses, but its subsidiary, American Insulated Wire, is also an important component. From the historical background, from the product line, to the coverage of the market, Leviton is quite strong in the North American market. Leviton developed its business in China in 2002. The main goal at that time was to move part of the company's production line to China, reducing production costs, and selling it back to the first factory in the US, which is often built in Dongguan. It has more than 3,000 employees. In addition, last year in Nanjing, we built a second factory with about 1,000 employees. The Nanjing factory also has an important purpose to fight for domestic sales, so that the goods we produce can be sold in the Chinese market. The capacity of the Nanjing plant is far from saturated, so there is still much room for development.
