ITC investigates MediaTek infringement

The United States International Trade Commission (ITC) launched an investigation into the case of Freescale's infringement of patents alleged by Freescale, and MediaTek declined to comment. Freescale’s patent disputes with MediaTek continued, and Freescale in July sued ITC for MediaTek’s and Japanese TV maker Funai’s TV related products for infringement of its patent rights; MediaTek once countered Freescale in the United States.

In December last year, Freescale again sued ITC for the infringement of MediaTek and Ruixuan TV-related products; ITC said on the 5th that it initiated an investigation on the infringement case. MediaTek said that the current lawsuit has entered the legal process and will not comment, because the court has not yet made a judgment, it will not cause any impact on the short-term operation of MediaTek.
