Recently, the Ningbo Electrical Safety Inspection Center (Yuyao) laboratory found during the test that the two lamps with identical structures have different detection results due to their different protection level markings. The overall protection rating of the first luminaire is identified as IP66, but because the electrical configuration cavity cannot pass the waterproof test, the product is unqualified; and when another luminaire is identified, the protection rating of the luminaire is divided into two parts, where the light source cavity For IP66, the electrical configuration cavity is IP44, which passes the dust and water proof test.

It is understood that in accordance with the safety standards for street lamps IEC60598-2-3, the enclosure protection rating of all lamps shall be at least IPX3, and the side-opening external parts of the tunnel lighting fixtures and column composite luminaires shall have at least IPX5. At the same time, the luminaire allows different levels of protection for different components. Since the first lighting manufacturer did not correctly understand the requirements of the standard, some of the devices had too high a protection level marking, which led to the failure of the product to pass the relevant requirements for waterproof testing.

Here, the inspection and quarantine department reminds street lamp production enterprises that they must familiarize themselves with safety standards and strictly follow the standards for production; strengthen communication with customers, and have special understanding of the special requirements for products put forward by customers, and be correct in accordance with standards and customer requirements.
